Carpel Tunnel Syndrome very commonly affects millions of American people every year. As the experts are still aren’t sure about what is causing it, the blame generally goes to the lifestyle of the people and the genetic factors. Though the risk factors are very high, you cannot avoid this from happening.

Carpel tunnel syndrome mainly causes stiffness and numbness in the fingers and the wrist of your hand. There can be pain and even inflammation along with it. However, there are many ways to get some relief and one of them being simple moves or exercises that can reduce the chances of getting these symptoms.

At South valley Neurology, you can get the best neurological care for patients with age 6 and above. Here some board-certified neurologists have been trained at the best medical programs in that country. If you are suffering from any of the mild or severe symptoms then you can log in to their website southvalleyneurology.com.

Here we are going to discuss some simple exercises that will help you. But keep in mind, you need to do this along with other treatments for the best results.

  • Just shake your hand to get some relief. This can be especially useful during nighttime when your symptoms are worse.
  • Make a fist and point your fingers up toward the ceiling as if you are asking someone to stop. You can repeat this in 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Make a fist and then stretch your fingers out as if you are making a fan. Again, you can repeat it in every 5 to 10 minutes.
  • One of the exercises is to touch each finger to the thumb so that you make an o- shape. Repeat this as many times as you want
  • Next is to sit down and place your hand straight on the table. Start moving your hands towards you with the fingers pointing upwards and hold on for 5 seconds. Then move back to the neutral position. Again, move your hand down with fingers pointing towards the floor and again hold on for 5 seconds. Then move back to the neutral position. Repeat this around 10 times.
  • The next stretch is to start with all your fingers looking down toward the ground. Then you can spread all your fingers as much as you can and then steeple your fingers by separating palms, but holding on all your fingers together. This will stretch your carpal tunnels, your median nerve, and the palmar fascia.
  • The next exercise is to stretch your hand in front with your palm facing upwards. Then bend your wrist back and use your other hand to stretch it even further till you feel the stretch. Hold this for around 15 to 30 seconds.
  • The easiest one is to hold a balled-up sock or a soft rubber ball and squeeze it. Repeat this around 10 times. Do this at least thrice a day.

It is always better to get prompt treatment from your physician in case you are experiencing carpel tunnel syndrome. The exercises that are mentioned above are only a partial way to treat your problem.
