The Pikmin 4's Release Date, Leaks, and More

The Pikmin series has always been a fan favorite but despite excellent reviews for all three mainline games, the series has never done extraordinarily well financially. Pikmin 4 has always remained in doubt as Nintendo decides whether to continue the series. In 2015, Shigeru Miyamoto was quoted as saying that Pikmin 4 was “very close to completion”, leading fans to believe a new game was on the way. We have not heard anything about Pikmin 4 since 2017, but there is a glimmer of hope for fans. In October, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, an enhanced port of the Wii U version, launched on the Nintendo Switch.

When Does Pikmin 4 Come Out?

Nintendo has typically kept fans on their toes by announcing games unexpectedly. Look at the release pattern of the previous Pikmin games, and perhaps we will find a clue when Pikmin 4 will be released. Upon the GameCube’s launch in 2001, Nintendo released Pikmin. Nintendo released Pikmin 2 three years later, which was well received by fans and sold over one million copies. Nintendo wouldn’t release its next mainline Pikmin title until 2013, nine years after Pikmin 2. However, Pikmin 3 managed to sell over one million copies on Nintendo’s lowest selling console. According to reports, Nintendo could be saving Pikmin 4 for launch of the Nintendo Switch Pro if the rumours of a Nintendo Switch Pro prove true. Pikmin 3 was supposed to be a launch title for the Wii U, but got delayed. Pikmin 4 is the presumed title of the next installment in the Pikmin series. As of March 2021, the game remains in development; according to Miyamoto, it has not always been a high priority for Nintendo. The game will most likely be released on Nintendo Switch.

Pikmin 4: Were There Any Leaks?

Pikmin 4’s future has been speculated whether its success will determine whether it will be successful or not. If this is the case, things are losing steam. In the UK, physical sales of Pikmin 3 Deluxe are down 18.2% from the Wii U version’s opening week. Digital sales, on the other hand, account for a much higher percentage of sales than when Pikmin 3 was launched in 2013. Pikmin 3 Deluxe probably won’t top the charts in the UK since the series has only sold five million copies in total. Nevertheless, most people would have expected Pikmin 3 Deluxe to sell more than the Wii U version because the Nintendo Switch has a much larger installed base.

Have There Been Any Pikmin 4 Leaks?

The last official word we heard from Nintendo about Pikmin 4 came from Miyamoto back in 2017. Despite Miyamoto’s claims three years ago that Pikmin 4 development was progressing, we haven’t heard or seen anything about it.The Nintendo team runs a tight ship, so we haven’t seen any leaks of late. The game received an impressive eight out of ten from Jon Mundy.

We hope you enjoyed above information about Pikmin 4!!!
